A good website. It is important to make people aware of the existence of malaria.

You may find www.eradication-of-malaria.com both interesting and surprising.

A nasty beast, P.vivax. Certainly not the first thing one thinks of on holiday in Finland but the parasite used to be common even in many of the colder parts of Europe. For your readers, the moral of this story is, if they feel unwell and feverish, they should tell their doctor to which exotic countries they have travelled in the past few years so that malaria can be considered as a possible diagnosis and the correct treatment given. This is even more urgent if they have been in Africa or other places where the potentially lethal malignant tertian parasite, P.falciparum, is present. Untreated, it can develop rapidly and kill within days.
